The sons of Perez
on 1 Chronicles 2:5-7
Zerah's sons include Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Dara, the men Solomon's wisdom is measured against in 1 Kings 4:31. The older commentators generally read the two lists as naming the same men. Carmi's son is spelled Achar, the Achan of Joshua 7, who brought trouble upon Israel.
