Jerahmeel's branch runs in bare names, and the notice that a son died without children marks a line that goes no further. It ends in Sheshan, and Sheshan had no sons, but only daughters. Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to his servant Jarha, an Egyptian, and she bore Attai.

Most of the men in verses 36 to 41 are known only from this list. Obed here shares the name of Boaz's son in verse 12, David's grandfather. The Chronicler keeps even an obscure line of Judah whole.
