'A Psalm of Solomon' closing Book II, the portrait of the ideal king. He shall judge the poor with justice; righteousness shall flourish and abundance of peace, till the moon be no more. Dominion from sea to sea; kings of Tarshish and the isles bring tribute; 'all kings shall fall down before him; all nations shall serve him', read messianically by synagogue and church. His name endures for ever; 'men shall be blessed in him.' Then the doxology and the colophon: 'The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.'
