Verse 37 names the offerings in one line with the ordination offering, closing the run that began at chapter 1. Verse 38 places these laws on Mount Sinai, while Leviticus 1:1 has the LORD speaking from the Tent of Meeting.

Albert Barnes explains the ordination offering as the sacrifices offered at the consecration of the priests. Its rite is set out at Exodus 29, and Leviticus 8 records Moses carrying it out for Aaron and his sons. The grain offering of Leviticus 6:20 belongs to the same day of anointing.
