When Enosh was 90 years old
on Genesis 5:9-14
The older commentators take the name Enosh to mean mortal or frail man. Kenan carries a name close to Cain's, and the two family lists share name after name: Enoch and Lamech stand in both, Methuselah beside Methusael. Gill notes the overlap and leaves it standing.

Kenan lived 840 years
No father in the chapter lived longer after the named son than Kenan's 840 years. Luke 3:37 names him Cainan among the fathers of Jesus, back to Adam and God. Gill saw in the list the line toward the Messiah.
