He drew me out of deep waters
on 2 Samuel 22:17-20
He “took hold of me” and “drew me out of deep waters”, the picture carried in Moses’ own name, drawn out. Keil and Delitzsch hear an echo of Israel’s rescue at the sea. The open place of verse 20 answers the tight danger of the verses before it.

Confronted renders the same verb as verse 6, and John Gill's King James text reads prevented in both places. Living enemies now do what death did there. The same text calls the Lord his stay, a staff to lean on when the ground gives way.
