[2.] God's uprightness, his justice and faithfulness, will be the joy of those that are upright, just, and faithful, both towards God and man. [3.] God's purity and holiness will be the joy of those that are pure and holy, who therefore give thanks at the remembrance thereof.

God shows Himself faithful to the faithful and pure to the pure, “but to the crooked You show Yourself shrewd”. John Gill ties the wording to its parallel in Psalm 18. The section closes with “You save an afflicted people”, while God’s eyes are on the haughty.
