on 1 Kings 15:31-32
The closing formula for Nadab is brief, and verse 32 repeats verse 16, “war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel throughout their days”. Hebrew narrative uses such a resumptive repetition to mark a return to the main line after a digression. Here it hands the story back to Judah.
