From Ephraim: 20,800 mighty men
on 1 Chronicles 12:30-31
Ephraim sends 20,800, and the half-tribe of Manasseh sends 18,000 designated by name to make David king. Keil takes the naming of individuals as a sign that the Chronicler drew on an actual muster record. Bennett notes that these two tribes stand with Judah here, though the kingdom later divides.

Designated by name marks these men as chosen and registered for the task, a formal delegation from their tribe. This is the half of Manasseh west of the Jordan. The eastern half comes with Reuben and Gad in verse 37.
