on 1 Chronicles 12:33-37
Each remaining tribe is marked by a trait: Zebulun sends 50,000, who with one purpose were devoted to David. Barnes reads this as the Chronicler's method, naming for each tribe the thing it was most admired for. Wesley reads the phrase at Zebulun as loyalty without pretense.

Reuben, Gad and eastern Manasseh send the largest single company, 120,000 men. These are the tribes whose settlement and exile chapter 5 records. Their land had been Ish-bosheth's base at Mahanaim (2 Samuel 2:8 to 9).
