on 1 Chronicles 12:3-7
The roster opens with Ahiezer their chief and Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite, from Gibeah, Saul's city. Jehu the Anathothite came from Anathoth, the town that later gave Judah the prophet Jeremiah. The name Jeremiah recurs three times in this chapter's lists, at verses 4, 10 and 13.

Gill reads these Korahites as the family of a Benjamite named Korah, distinct from the Levite gatekeepers of 1 Chronicles 9:19. The Levite Korah of Numbers 16:1 is the better known bearer of the name. Jashobeam shares his name with David's chief in 11:11.
