on 1 Chronicles 12:23-27
The second list begins at Hebron, numbering the men armed for battle who came to turn Saul’s kingdom over to him. Judah sends 6,800 and Levi 4,600, and Jehoiada brings 3,700 more. Clarke identifies this Jehoiada as the father of Benaiah, a different man from Abiathar the high priest.

From Simeon: 7,100 mighty men
Simeon's towns lay inside the land of Judah (Joshua 19:1 and 9), yet Simeon's mighty men outnumber the armed troops from Judah. Genesis 49:7 foretold that Simeon and Levi would be scattered in Israel. Levi comes next in verse 26.
