The priests, the Levites and the rest of the exiles celebrate the dedication with joy. The offerings are modest beside Solomon's thousands, a hundred bulls, two hundred rams and four hundred lambs. The sin offering for all Israel is twelve male goats, so the remnant offers for the twelve-tribe nation.

The aged who had wept at the laying of the foundation [Ezr 3:12] were most, if not all of them, now dead; and all rejoiced at the completion of this national undertaking.
