on Ezekiel 45:21-25

The calendar closes with two pilgrim feasts, the Passover and the feast of the seventh month. Each lasts seven days, with the prince's own sin offering “for himself and for all the people of the land.” Gill notes the vision restores the appointed times the law already named.

The prince offers a sin offering for himself as well as for the people. He stands among the worshippers who need atonement. For that reason many interpreters distinguish him from the Messiah, while Matthew Henry reads the office as a picture of godly rulers serving the church.
