The words sin offering occur here for the first time in Scripture, at the ordination of the priests. The flesh, the skin and the dung are burned outside the camp, and Hebrews 13:11-13 reads the crucifixion outside the gate against that arrangement.

“This is the membrane upon the maw which is called tele [in old French].” This is Rashi’s language. In my opinion, the expression the fat that covereth the inwards is indeed a reference to the membrane [upon the maw].
