on 2 Samuel 23:6-7
The oracle ends with its counterpart: “the worthless are all like thorns raked aside”, for no one can gather them by hand. The man who touches them must be armed “with iron or with the shaft of a spear”, and the fire burns them where they lie.

The man who clears thorns is armed with iron tools, and the fire burns them in the place where they were cut. Matthew Henry notes that the Chaldee paraphrase refers the fire to the day of judgment. He reads it of those who will not repent.
