on 2 Chronicles 9:5-6

She confesses that the report she carried from home fell short: “not half of the greatness of your wisdom was told to me”. Report and sight are set against each other, “until I came and saw with my own eyes,” the same structure as 1 Kings 10:6-7.

The queen had doubted the reports until she came herself. Her admission that half had been left untold leads her from praise of Solomon's servants in verse 7 to praise of his God. Henry says she traces the happiness of king and kingdom to its fountain, the favour of God.
