The narrator breaks to note the servants of Hiram and of Solomon brought algum wood from Ophir. The king made steps for the temple and the palace, and “lyres and harps for the singers,” the choirs of 1 Chronicles 25. Kings calls the same wood almug at 1 Kings 10:11-12.

Algum wood from Ophir became steps for the temple and the palace. Henry reads the whole account of this wealth as the fulfillment of the promise in chapter 1 of riches, wealth and honour beyond any king. The lyres and harps went to the singers.
