Isaac and Ishmael - Isaac, though younger than Ishmael, is placed first, as the legitimate heir, since Sarah alone was Abraham’s true wife (compare the 1Ch 1:36 note).

Ishmael's twelve sons and Keturah's sons are listed first and finished. Then the line the book follows is taken up last: Abraham was the father of Isaac. Genesis set the same order with its toledoth, listing Esau's line before Jacob's.
