on 1 Chronicles 1:28-34
Ishmael's twelve sons and Keturah's sons are listed first and finished. Then the line the book follows is taken up last: Abraham was the father of Isaac. Genesis set the same order with its toledoth, listing Esau's line before Jacob's.

The sons of Midian
The five sons of Midian repeat Genesis 25:4. Midian's descendants later oppressed Israel for seven years until Gideon routed them in Judges 6 to 8. Verse 46 records an Edomite king who defeated Midian in Moab.
