on Joshua 21:20-26
The Kohathites who were not priests are placed in Ephraim, Dan and half Manasseh, and three of their ten towns were never cleared. Gezer is where 16:10 says the Canaanites stayed, Aijalon is held by Amorites at Judges 1:35, and Manasseh could not take Taanach at Judges 1:27.

Elteke, Gibbethon
Gibbethon is later called Gibbethon of the Philistines, and Israel's army was besieging it when Baasha killed King Nadab there in 1 Kings 15:27. A Levite town had passed into Philistine hands. 1 Chronicles 6:66-69 leaves out Dan and both of these towns.
