on Jeremiah 36:24-26
The king and his servants “did not become frightened or tear their garments,” though the officials had turned in fear. Elnathan, Delaiah, and Gemariah urge the king not to burn the scroll, and he orders Baruch and Jeremiah seized. Verse 26 ends, “But the LORD had hidden them.”

Jamieson, Fausset and Brown take Hammelech as a name, since Jehoiakim's son Jeconiah was a boy of eleven. Barnes allows a name or a prince of the royal house. Adam Clarke joins the means of escape: the officials' counsel to hide, and the LORD keeping the search from finding them.
