on Jeremiah 36:14-16
The officials send Jehudi to bring Baruch and the scroll. When they had heard it, “they turned to one another in fear.” Their decision, “Surely we must report all these words to the king,” sends the scroll up to the one man who can act on it.

The officials received Baruch with courtesy and asked him to sit. Henry compares Paul, who laid his message privately before those of reputation in Galatians 2, and reads the private reading as the same wise accommodation.
