Togarmah--Armenia: descended from Gomer (Ge 10:3). Their mountainous region south of the Caucasus was celebrated for horses. horsemen--rather, "riding-horses," as distinct from "horses" for chariots [FAIRBAIRN].

The trade list turns to Javan, Tubal and Meshech, peoples of Asia Minor, who traded the persons of men and vessels of brass. Clarke reads the human trafficking named at verse 13 without any softening, the same matter-of-fact list format used for iron and ivory applied to men.

Togarmah is a son of Gomer in Genesis 10:3, generally placed in the highlands of Armenia. The same people march with Gog's army from the far north in 38:6. Horses were the region's wealth.
