on 2 Chronicles 18:25-27
The king orders Micaiah handed to Amon and fed “only bread and water until I return safely”. Micaiah stakes his office on the outcome: “If you ever return safely, the LORD has not spoken through me”. Deuteronomy 18:22 sets this test for a prophet, whether his word comes true.

Ahab orders Micaiah held on bread and water until the king comes back safely. Henry says Micaiah was buffeted, imprisoned and condemned to the bread and water of affliction for keeping a good conscience. The order stakes the outcome on Ahab's return.
