The king of Israel and Jehoshaphat - “Ahab consulted false prophets; but Jehoshaphat sought instruction from the presence of the Lord, and prayed at the entering in of Samaria; and before these all the false prophets prophesied lies.” - Targum.

on 2 Chronicles 18:7-9

Ahab states his objection to Micaiah before sending for him: “I hate him because he never prophesies anything good for me, but only bad”. Jehoshaphat rebukes him: “The king should not say that”. In the Targum, Clarke records, Jehoshaphat prays at the gate while the false prophets prophesy lies.

Both kings sit robed and enthroned at the threshing floor near the gate of Samaria. Barnes notes that this chapter follows the account in Kings closely, adding a few touches of its own. Verse 31, Barnes adds, has nothing like it in Kings.
