Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah. The list traces both households. Koz, a son of Helah, is named in verse 8, just before the account of Jabez in verse 9.

Koz, who was the father of Anub
Koz is named with his sons and with the clans of Aharhel son of Harum. Neither Aharhel nor Harum appears elsewhere in Scripture. The next verse turns to Jabez, whose family is left unnamed.
