the leaders of the people
on Nehemiah 10:14-27
The lay heads of families close the roll, the family names that head the register of the first return in Ezra 2 and Nehemiah 7. The generation that came up under Zerubbabel and the generation that seals the covenant under Nehemiah are the same houses, the old remnant still standing.
This site's exposition
Hallohesh, Pilha, Shobek
Hallohesh, Pilha and Shobek are among the leaders of the people who sealed. Hallohesh is the father of Shallum at 3:12, the ruler of the other half-district of Jerusalem, who made repairs with the help of his daughters. The house of Hallohesh gives its seal here.
