on Nehemiah 10:14-27
The lay heads of families close the roll, the family names that head the register of the first return in Ezra 2 and Nehemiah 7. The generation that came up under Zerubbabel and the generation that seals the covenant under Nehemiah are the same houses, the old remnant still standing.

Hodiah, Hashum, Bezai
Hashum and Bezai follow each other in the register of the first return at 7:22-23, the order they keep here. A Hashum stood at Ezra's left hand on the platform at 8:4. Seven men of that house appear among those with foreign wives at Ezra 10:33.
