The chapter ends where the arm image was heading, Pharaoh's arms falling down while I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon. The recognition formula closes the chapter twice in three verses. Keil notes the near-identical wording that opens and closes verses 25 and 26, deliberate repetition.

The sentence of scattering is spoken three times in these chapters, at 29:12, 30:23 and here. The promise of 29:13 to 14 has already set its limit, a gathering after forty years. The scattering has an end.
