Thus says the Lord God: Because Edom has acted vengefully against the children of Judah and has incurred guilt by taking vengeance upon them, therefore thus says the Lord God: I will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off from it man and beast. I will make it a desolation from Teman, and Dedan shall fall by the sword.

Edom's charge is vengeance carried out, dealt against the house of Judah. The sentence stands apart from the other three: the Lord says he will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel. Henry connects the detail to Israel's subjugation of Edom under the Hasmonean kings.

Teman was an Edomite district named for a grandson of Esau in Genesis 36:11. Dedan was an Arabian trading town beyond Edom's southeastern border, and Keil reads the pair as the whole extent of the land. Man and beast alike fall.

From Teman ... - Or “from Teman” even unto “Dedan,” “shall they fall.” Teman and Dedan were districts (not cities), the former in the south (Eze 20:46 note), the latter in the north (“over the whole country”).

Teman . . . they of Dedan--rather, "I will make it desolate from Teman (in the south) even to Dedan (in the northwest)" [GROTIUS], (Jer 49:8), that is, the whole country from north to south, stretching from the south of the Dead Sea to the Elanitic gulf of the Red Sea.
I will make it desolate from Teman - Teman and Dedan were both cities of the Moabites, and apparently at each extremity of the land.
