on 2 Chronicles 35:7-9
Josiah gives 30,000 lambs and goats and 3,000 bulls from his own flocks and herds. His officials and the named chiefs of the priests and Levites, Hilkiah, Zechariah and Jehiel, add thousands more. That is a larger provision than the king and officials made for Hezekiah's Passover in chapter 30.

Conaniah bears the name of the Levite who kept the contributions under Hezekiah in 31:12, and John Gill points to that verse. These officers were men of substance who supplied the poorer families. Matthew Henry sees in their gifts the friends Providence raises for those set on doing their duty.
