the wall of Jerusalem, as well as Hazor

on 1 Kings 9:15-19

The account of the forced labor names its projects: the temple, the palace, the supporting terraces, the wall of Jerusalem, and “Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer”. Gezer needed rebuilding because Pharaoh had set it on fire and “given it as a dowry to his daughter, Solomon’s wife”.

Lower Beth-horon

Solomon rebuilt Lower Beth-horon, and John Gill adds Upper Beth-horon from 2 Chronicles 8:5, both towns on the border of Ephraim. The road through them climbed from the plain to Jerusalem. Joshua chased the Amorites up that road at Joshua 10:10.
