Elijah did what the LORD had told him
on 1 Kings 17:5-7
Elijah obeys at once and lives by the brook. John Wesley reads the Hebrew behind “Some time later” as the end of a year, when the brook dries up. Adam Clarke ties the drought to the curse Deuteronomy sets on a land that turns to other gods.
