on Nehemiah 12:12-21
A second list of course heads follows, one name set against each of the courses named in verses one through seven, now serving in the days of Joiakim the second generation after the return. Several of these names recur among the sealers of Nehemiah's covenant in chapter ten, the same men and their descendants signing the document their fathers' courses had first carried home. The priesthood renews itself by father's house across a generation exactly as Ezra's registers required at the return, name matched to name and course matched to course.
