Jeshua son of Azaniah

on Nehemiah 10:9-13

The Levites follow the priests, headed by "Jeshua son of Azaniah," "Binnui of the sons of Henadad" and Kadmiel. These names reach back to the first return, where Jeshua and Kadmiel already lead the Levitical courses. The roll keeps the temple's two orders, priest and Levite, in their fixed order.

Shebaniah, Hodiah, Kelita, Pelaiah, Hanan

Four of these five Levites, Hodiah, Kelita, Pelaiah and Hanan, stood among the thirteen who explained the Law to the people as Ezra read it. Shebaniah cried out to the LORD from the Levites' platform at 9:4. The teachers of chapter 8 now bind themselves.
