The closing formula names the cases again, as 13:59 and 14:57 also close. The Mishnah gives two whole tractates to these thirty-three verses, Zavim to the man's discharge and Niddah to the woman's.

The summary ends with the man who lies with an unclean woman, the case of verse 24. Jamieson, Fausset and Brown read the whole law as teaching reverence for holy things by keeping every kind of uncleanness from the tabernacle.

Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness--The divine wisdom was manifested in inspiring the Israelites with a profound reverence for holy things; and nothing was more suited to this purpose than to debar from the tabernacle all who were polluted by any kind of uncleanness, ceremonial as well as natural, mental as well as physical.
