on 2 Chronicles 9:10-11

The narrator breaks from the queen's visit to note Huram's servants bringing algum wood from Ophir, which Solomon turns into terraces for the temple and the palace, and into harps and psalteries for singers. Kings calls the same wood almug and uses it for pillars; the Chronicler's own interest lands the timber instead on the instruments of the Levitical choirs he founded at 1 Chr 25. A visitor's gold funds the building; a trading partner's wood funds the singing.
