on Numbers 10:18-20
Reuben, Simeon and Gad move next, the south standard of Numbers 2:10-16. Reuben was the firstborn and walks fourth in the column, which Genesis 49:3-4 had explained and Numbers 2 had already fixed. The order of the march is the order of the camp down to the last name.

Eliasaph son of Deuel was over the division of the tribe of Gad
Gad closes the southern camp, and behind it came the Kohathites with the holy objects in verse 21. Eliasaph's 45,650 men were the last soldiers before the ark in Clarke's order of march. Gill notes that Gad was the son of Leah's servant Zilpah.
