This site's exposition

the sons of Seir the Horite, who were living in the land

on Genesis 36:20-23

Genesis lists the Horites who held Seir before Esau reached it, Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon and Anah heading the list and Dishon, Ezer and Dishan closing it. They are first named at Genesis 14:6, among the peoples Chedorlaomer struck, and Deuteronomy 2:12 says the sons of Esau took their place. The register gives them the care it gives the covenant family.
