The priest who has just made the means of cleansing must wash his clothes and bathe, and stays unclean until evening. Wesley reads this of the imperfection of the Levitical priesthood, the priest defiled by his own work.

Matthew Henry carries the uncleanness of these workers over to Jesus, made sin at 2 Corinthians 5:21 and a curse at Galatians 3:13. The man who burned her washes and bathes exactly as the priest did. Each hand that serves the rite loses a day.
