The voice names the room “the place of My throne and the place for the soles of My feet,” where He will dwell forever. Israel's kings defiled His holy name. The command to remove “their prostitution and the funeral offerings for their kings” is the condition of the dwelling.

The guide still stands beside Ezekiel. The voice comes from inside the house, where the glory has just entered. Matthew Henry reads the guide as standing aside once God begins to speak, since the angel has no more to say.
