The “hooks in your jaws” repeat Pharaoh's sentence at 29:4. The allies ring Israel's known world: Persia to the east, Cush and Put to the south and west, and Gomer and Beth-togarmah from the north. Keil reads the list as gathered from every quarter against the one land.

Beth-togarmah from the far north
Gomer and Togarmah appear among descendants of Japheth in Genesis 10:2 to 3, and lay in the north, around the Black Sea and Asia Minor. Adam Clarke, following Calmet, identifies them with Cimmerians and Turcomanians. Genesis 10 supplies most of the names in Gog's alliance.
