Oil for the light - This they must have brought with them from Egypt, for they could not get any in the wilderness where there were no olives; but it is likely that this and some other directions refer more to what was to be done when in their fixed and settled residence, than while wandering in the wilderness. Spices - To make a confection for sweet incense, abounded in different parts of these countries.

on Exodus 25:3-7

The metals are named in an order the whole structure keeps to, gold then silver then brass, and chapter 26 grades them the same way by how far a thing sits from the ark. The gold and the silver came out of Egypt at 12:35 and 12:36, handed over by the people who had held Israel as slaves. Incense occurs here for the first time in Scripture, listed as a raw supply four chapters before the altar it burns on is given at 30:1.
