on 1 Chronicles 8:13-27
Beriah and Shema were the heads of families of the inhabitants of Aijalon, and they drove out the inhabitants of Gath. Gill links this to the killing of Ephraim's sons by the natives of Gath in 1 Chronicles 7:21. The roll runs through the sons of Elpaal, Shimei and Shashak.

The closing words mark verses 22 to 25 as the sons of Shashak, eleven in all. Another Penuel stands in the line of Judah as the father of Gedor (1 Chronicles 4:4). Shashak's house ends here.
