who drove out the inhabitants of Gath
on 1 Chronicles 8:13-27
Beriah and Shema were the heads of families of the inhabitants of Aijalon, and they drove out the inhabitants of Gath. Gill links this to the killing of Ephraim's sons by the natives of Gath in 1 Chronicles 7:21. The roll runs through the sons of Elpaal, Shimei and Shashak.

Elienai, Zillethai, Eliel
These sons of Shimei are among the heads of families who lived in Jerusalem, according to verse 28. Jamieson, Fausset and Brown date that settlement after the return from captivity. An Eliel also appears in Shashak's list at verse 22.
