on 1 Chronicles 8:13-27
Beriah and Shema were the heads of families of the inhabitants of Aijalon, and they drove out the inhabitants of Gath. Gill links this to the killing of Ephraim's sons by the natives of Gath in 1 Chronicles 7:21. The roll runs through the sons of Elpaal, Shimei and Shashak.

The closing words name these men as the sons of Shimei. He may be the Shema of verse 13, a chief of Aijalon and Beriah's partner in driving out the men of Gath. The spellings differ.
