who drove out the inhabitants of Gath
on 1 Chronicles 8:13-27
Beriah and Shema were the heads of families of the inhabitants of Aijalon, and they drove out the inhabitants of Gath. Gill links this to the killing of Ephraim's sons by the natives of Gath in 1 Chronicles 7:21. The roll runs through the sons of Elpaal, Shimei and Shashak.

In the Berean text these three names open the list of Beriah's sons that ends in verse 16. Shashak's own sons follow in verses 22 to 25, and Gill takes Jeroham of verse 27 as this Jeremoth. Beriah led Aijalon (verse 13).
