Chronicles opens where 2 Sam 6:17-19 opens, with the ark placed “inside the tent that David had pitched for it”, before Solomon's temple is built. Chronicles spends the rest of the chapter on the psalm and the choir David founds around the ark, which Samuel sums up in a line.

David gives bread and cakes to every woman of Israel as well as every man. Adam Clarke calls the loaf a whole cake. He gives the Targum's reading of the second gift as a sixth part of an ox with a sixth part of a hin of wine.
