The opening four verses parallel Ps 105:1-4. They call Israel to “Seek out the LORD and His strength”, and to “seek His face always”. The verb seek becomes the measure the Chronicler applies to every later king, and 1 Chr 22:19, 2 Chr 15:12-13 and 20:3-4 return to it.

Glory in His holy name
Glory here means to boast. The boast is in the LORD's holy name, and the joy belongs to every heart that seeks Him. Verse 11 takes up the verb seek twice more, and Eusebius of Caesarea reads the psalms given to Asaph as prophecy as well as praise.
